Sacred Arts / Our Teachers

Charlotte Douglas

Charlotte first discovered yoga 20 years ago and ever since then has been committed to the practice as a way to bring space into herself and her life. She received her 250hr teacher training at Yoga Limbs in HK in 2011 and has studied extensively with teachers such as Leslie Kaminoff, Hersha Chellaram and Chandrika Gibson. Charlotte is one of the few yoga therapists in Hong Kong certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapy.

Charlotte teaches a style of yoga which is both breath centred and individualised to the needs of the student. She believes passionately in the therapeutic integration of yoga into an increasingly complex modern world and the creation of safe, non judgemental spaces where students may be empowered to be in their bodies and with their breath.

"To find joy, intimacy and aliveness we simply need to tap into what is already here."
Classes & private trainings
Chair yoga
Suitable for all levels
Chair Yoga is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available. Students perform postures and breathing exercises with the aid of a chair. Students can experience the many benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor. Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion, and stress reduction.

YOGA

Restorative Yoga
Suitable for all levels
In this class students are guided through a series of easy, supported poses held for an extended time with the help of props (bolsters, blankets, blocks & chairs) for total ease and comfort. Combined with gentle awareness of the the breath, restorative postures unravel deep layers of stress and tension, shifting the nervous system from "fight or flight" mode into maximum relaxation.

YOGA

Therapeutic Vinyasa Flow
In this breath-centered practice you will be guided through gentle vinyasa sequences designed to connect you to your body and mind. A steady and easeful breath allows the body to find its natural alignment without force and facilitate an unwinding of tension. The aim is to empower students to see that the greatest challenge lies in our ability to be present to our needs rather than how far we can enter into a posture.
While the class is ideal for those who have injuries and/or are looking for a safer way to practice yoga, experienced students with no health issues who are looking to unwind and de-stress will equally benefit.

YOGA
Private Yoga Therapy
Suitable to all levels
When we step on to a yoga mat we step into a relationship with ourselves. Through this we form deeper connections to the body, the breath and ultimately to ourselves. Traditionally yoga was taught on a one to one basis and designed to be therapeutic, the optimal way to adapt the practice to the individual. During the practice the student may explore the full holistic and therapeutic applications of the practice in an intimate and private setting.

WELLNESS SANCTUARY
Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a very gentle system of energy medicine that can either work independently or alongside other forms of medical treatment. It is a form of healthcare that addresses the whole person, taking into account your emotional and physical well-being with an individualised treatment plan.
Treatment consists of specially prepared medicines or 'remedies' as well as herbal tinctures, flower essences, tissue salts and nutrition to support under-functioning organs and systems and to stimulate the body's own healing mechanisms. Homeopathy is able to help with all kinds of emotional and physical ailments including acute, recurrent and long-term problems such as allergies, anxiety, stress, depression, PMT, asthma, chronic fatigue, colic, coughs, colds, digestion problems, eczema, hay fever, headaches, insomnia, and many other conditions. The eventual aim is a permanent cure. How long this takes depends on the nature of the condition and how long it has been present. Consultations are one-on-one and in-depth; Charlotte takes time to build up a full case history so that the most suitable diagnosis and prescription can be achieved. The relationship between homeopath and patient is entirely confidential.

Charlotte Douglas - Homeopathy

Charlotte Douglas is an experienced homeopath who was trained in one of the largest colleges in the UK. She came to Hong Kong in the spring of 2009, leaving behind her a busy practice in London. Her training was grounded in practical homeopathy.
Charlotte believes that wellness is a continuum and that throughout our lives our physical, mental and emotional energy can fluctuate. Natural medicines can empower us to be more responsible & more in-tune with how we are feeling on a moment to moment basis.
