Clare is APAC's leading Katonah Yoga® teacher as well as cofounder of SharedSpace Movement. A dancer and competitive athlete in her early years, Clare is passionate about building a sustainable physical practice for increased joy in life.
Classes & private trainings
Katonah Yoga®
This class is best for practitioners who have attended 5 or more Katonah Yoga Basic classes. With a focus on structural alignment, expect to do a few poses well - with stability, mobility and vision. Katonah Yoga is a practice developed by Nevine Michaan over 40 years. She and her teachers incorporate classical Hatha yoga with Taoist theory, geometry, magic, mythology, metaphor, and imagination in a practical framework designed to potentiate personal and communal well-being. Framing the practice, maps of time and personal space are defined and refined. Themes using asana as origami, manipulating form for function, and developing a sense of personal measure are incorporated in Katonah Yoga practices.

Katonah Yoga® Basics
This basic level Katonah Yoga class is perfect for beginners to yoga. Aligned through sacred geometry measurements, this slow paced practice brings clarity to one's Hatha yogasana forms, encouraging full body movements, strength through structure, the release of tension that no longer serves. Adjustments are common in this practice - practitioners who prefer not to be touched are welcome to communicate their preference before class commences.

Katonah Yoga® Restorative
This practice is a blend of Restorative Yoga and Katonah Yoga. Expect a mellow practice, with lots of support from yoga props. With the letting go of muscle tension in poses, the focus of this class is to go inward and deepen relaxation.

Katonah Yoga® Heated
Build heat and release tension that no longer serves. This Katonah class in a heated environment serves to go deeper with ease while measuring up with the Katonah Yoga sacred geometry alignments. Great for anyone feeling limited by their mobility or who wants to break a healthy sweat in class.

Yin Yoga
Yin represents all that is feminine, dark, passive, receptive and reflective. Movements are slow paced with long holds to reach areas rich in connective tissues and to increase circulation in joints. This is a journey inwards and more meditative practice to regulate the body's flow of energy.

Movement Basics
This basic level movement class is a great starting point for new practitioners to Movement. A blend of bodyweight strength, mobility and flow coordination work, this practice facilitates the development of somatic awareness. These sessions are a blend of lecture, discussion, individual, introspective movement practice and partnered movement drills. Designed by SharedSpace's Movement Director, Aaron Martin, all movement workshops have a healthy blend of Strength, Mobility and Coordination work, encouraging each participant to develop a movement practice that is balancing and harmonising to one's body. These movement workshops are a taster for Movement Teacher Trainings as well as Katonah Yoga 200-hour certification accredited.

MOVEMENT

Mobility and Movement
A class for those who feel stiff or tight and who want to experience healthy and functional flexibility, taught in a clear manner. Movements are tailored to balance habits like sitting for long hours or regular running. Exploring mobility playfully and in "flows", as well as technically in isolation to gain clarity and confidence in positions that are usually difficult for hip, lower back and shoulders.

Movement Flow
Movement Flow blends primal movements, yoga poses, martial arts and beginner calisthenics into fluid sequences. Anyone who has felt limited by a yoga mat before is welcome to join this journey of movement exploration. Each class progresses from the most basic - think easier than downward dog - to intermediate patterns that are optional.

MOVEMENT

Movement Therapy
This is a slow-paced, gentle movement practice. Movement Therapy is a basic level class, with a focus on functional mobility and relaxed coordination. It is a wonderful alternative to the Movement Basics class, especially for those nursing injuries or chronic tension in the muscles and mind. This class will cover a blend of exercises, both lying down and standing up. A great class to end the day with.

MOVEMENT

Strength and Movement
This session builds strength and awareness for movements with good form. What do healthy and balanced strength exercises look like? These alignment-based strength movements are for people who want to get stronger, balance their other practices and improve posture. Session emphasise a strong trunk, open shoulders and a stable core to move well.
